Meet Sarah Kate Benjamin
As an herbalist, holistic chef and cookbook author, Sarah Kate knows the importance cooking has on our daily lives. She sees the kitchen as a sanctuary. A respite from the long day, where creativity, comfort and calm coincide. For her, there’s no deeper nourishment than the nourishment we feel connecting to ourselves, or with the ones we love, over a delicious meal.
Cooking became second nature after learning to garden in her early twenties. With so many herbs, greens and vegetables growing in her community garden, she focused on putting them to good use in the kitchen. During this time, she also struggled with chronic fatigue syndrome and found that creating a practice of cooking wholesome foods infused with restorative herbs brought back a sense of vitality she once lost.
From there, she was hooked and dove deep into studying the healing powers of herbs and honed her cooking skills. She’s studied herbalism at the Florida School of Holistic Living and Herb Pharm, clinical Ayurvedic foundations at the dhyana Center, and apprenticed in the buddhist kitchens of Tassjara Zen Mountain Center.
Her work in co-creating The Kosmic Kitchen has deepened her passion for helping people all over the world feel empowered through everyday herbal kitchen practices that support their healing, creativity and connection to the earth.
